Who are Coheed and Cambria?

Coheed and Cambria are made up of four members. They consist of Josh Eppard, who is the drummer, Zach Cooper who is the bassist, Travis Stever who is the lead/rhythm guitarist and Claudio Sanchez who is the lead vocalist and guitarist. Coheed and Cambria was formed in Nyack, New York and started when Claudio, Travis, Josh and the original bassist Michael Todd finished high school. They got the name Coheed and Cambria from the two protagonists in a story Claudio was writing. The story is used as a reading between the lines of lyrics that Claudio comes up with. Its never something that the crowd has to read to understand the music. It is simply for the people who want more.
Their music is best described as rock or progressive rock, because their style of rock has changed on every album. One reason I enjoy them so much is that their music is always changing in style but staying in the rock category. There first album called "The Second Stage Turbine Blade" is under the progressive rock and emo label and feels very punk rock. The second album is "In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth: 3" and stays under the progressive rock and emo label but this time its not punk and you feel they are a lot more confident in their music.
The third album is called "Good Apollo, I'm Burning Star IV, Volume One: From Fear Through the Eyes of Madness". They stay with the theme of emo and progressive rock but they also really play classic rock on this album. The guitar rifts are soothing and the final song is masterpiece of musical artisanship. The fourth album is called "Good Apollo, I'm Burning Star IV, Volume Two: No World for Tomorrow". This album is exclusively progressive rock. The songs on this album are very bleak and it feels like the credits of a great movie that has to come to an end.
Their fifth album is called "Year of the Black Rainbow". They decide to stay with the progressive rock of the previous album but add in progressive metal and some punk to this album. Their sixth album is "The Afterman Ascension". It is progressive rock but I would describe it as easy listening. because for the first time we hear the majority of the songs on their album using a slower tempo and the use of a steel guitar. Their seventh album is called "The Afterman: Descension" and is under the alternative rock label. Their eighth and latest album is called "The Color Before the Sun" and is under the alternative and pop rock label. It is definitely the brightest, happiest music they have made to date. Now you can see why I say their music is rock but always changing.
