Who is Weerd Science?

So weerd science is a rap project by Josh Eppard who is the drummer of Coheed and Cambria. Looking at the photo, the man in the glasses is Josh Eppard. Weerd Science started from Josh fighting his drug addiction and wanting to speak about something real. In his later albums he also talks about ghosts and the supernatural. I am going to warn you as a reader that Weerd Science lyrically is brutal and not the nicest at times.

This is the first album he made called "Friends And Nervous Breakdowns". The first song I want to talk about on this album is "Girl, Your Baby's Worm Food". This song is about a girl that sleeps around and has several kids and that if she is pregnant he is going to force an abortion on her. He calls her trash on multiple occasions in the song. Personally I do not agree with that one person in this did nothing wrong and that she is responsible for the full blame. Yet I do think that her sleeping around and wanting to keep the kid simply to make him stay and pay money to her is messed up.

The next song I want to talk about is "Blueprint". This song is about when someone wants to change you from who you are to someone else. This song plays the idea that he is on a operating table. So his new girlfriend is putting him back together after he has been broken by someone else. It feels awesome to have someone care for him again after the downfall. Then this amazing line comes "when the butterflies turn into butcher knives". Then the song changes direction because she wants to erase and redo his memories. I think this song really says a lot from that one line. We feel the happy butterflies at first in the relationship, but as it falls apart we feel anger and sadness.

The next song I want to talk about is "Xoxo Hugs & Kisses". Even though this song starts out saying some mean words, it is actually equal to everyone. He is not saying that he doesn't like a certain type of people but that he doesn't like anyone. I know that many of us have those days when we have had a bad day at school or work. Its not that we are mad at the people who are close to us or the traffic that is around us. Yet those are the people who take the brunt of our anger or yelling due to someone or something else bothering us.

Red Light Juliet is the third album he made. This is where he starts to get into ghosts and the supernatural. The first song I want to talk about is "Evil Genius". This song is about a girl who sleeps around in a small town and how she always blames the guy for being the bad person. He talks about that in a small town soon enough everyone knows you and that can be hell. You are then pushed to move away to restart your perpetual cycle of finding and disposing of guys.

"Red Light Juliet Broadcast 2: Steady Straight Lights/Sudden Dark Turns" is the fourth album that he made. The album art is one of the coolest so far in the discography of Weerd Science. The first song off this album I want to talk about is "The Dinner Party". This song is about when you have to go to an event or social space and you don't fit in. But this time they are the outcast because all the guests are similar to him. The people at this party are metal heads and rappers, people who don't fit the cookie cutter mold.

Red Light Juliet Broadcast 3: The Seer is the fifth album that he made. One song I want to talk about is "Your Shovel". This song is about the loss of a spouse and life after that. No one will replace the loved one you have lost. No one will replace the father figure to your young child, but life moves on and you have to as well. You never have to forget who he was, but you should pick up your things and keep pushing along.
