Who is Davenport Cabinet?

The man pictured is Travis Stever, he is the rhythm guitarist for Coheed and Cambria as well as the lead of his side project Davenport Cabinet. He started this side project in 2008 naming the band after two magicians in the nineteenth century. His music is very southern rock and is very easy to listen to.

This is his first album titled "Nostalgia in Stereo". One of the songs on the album is "Milk Foot". This song is about god and how she brings joy to our lives, such as when we go through a hard struggle and cant seem to find the joy in our life. When we do end up finding it again, that is what this song is about.

His second album is called "Our Machine". The first song I want to talk about is the title track "Our Machine". This song is about trying something new that no one has tried before, like inventing something that has not been seen before. We will be told that our idea will not work many times before it does. We will have many failures on our road to success, but when we do succeed no one will remember the failures.

The third album he made was very small and only had six songs. This album is titled "Risks in Magic". It was released right before the birth of his first child. Since it only seems fitting, one song I want to talk about is "Risks in Magic". This song is about the risk of having a baby and trying to teach them to be a good person in life. The song tells about the risks of becoming a dad and being protective of your new child.

The next album I want to talk about is "Damned Renegades". This album was not my favorite just because I didn't get the same feeling from the music on this album. However it is still a good album. The first song I want to talk about is "Sorry for Me". This song is about being sorry for all the things that you have put in someone else's life. Being in a relationship with a band member who is touring and on the road many days out of the year is what he is referring to in the song. I can only imagine what they must go though year to year.

Recently on October 14th he released his final EP for Davenport Cabinet because he is moving to a new house and wants to start a new project. One song I want to talk about is "Not the First". This song is about the love he has for his new child. Even though he is not his first, the love he has for him is just the same. The tune of this song is what I think really makes it so good. It has a bouncy twang to the guitar that just feels fun.

The last album I want to talk about is his other project that is just a joke called Fire Deuce. He has only released one album but has made a few other songs for this project. Mostly just being funny stuff that is not too serious. They dress up in costumes for live performance so really its just Coheed and Cambria in funny costumes and playing funny songs.
